I have just ordered the John Cale autobiography after going to see him perform his album Paris 1919, and could not imagine how absolutely magical he is. At the time it felt like I was dragged to the concert, but I should really know by now how fabulously exquisite my other half’s taste is… in everything!

Recently I have been reading biographies relentlessly, so I thought I’ll start with a book I really couldn’t put down, ‘No Lifeguard on Duty’ was written by the larger than life Janice Dickinson, illustrating her incredible existence from an extremely unpleasant childhood to the strength and tenacity to succeed as a model and to the internal emotional struggle to find herself. The story laced with drugs, alcohol, humour and men (a lot of men) is brutally honest and captivating.
